Mark Willcox is an artist who is immersed in ideas that examine the nature of existence, altered perception and neuroses; he is inspired by themes or events that are either globally or culturally significant.
These are expressed through his preoccupation with visual qualities inherent in motion and transience, which is driven by an unusual sight impairment he acquired in an accident in 1978.
He is currently exploring the potential for using cameras in an experimental way, to drive the medium of photography towards abstraction and beyond preconceived notions of what it should be.
Mark Willcox is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts; his work is held in public, private and corporate art collections in Europe, Asia and the UK. |
